I will be on EAD for the new job..and the LOA is vacation without pay. My salary is already 30% more than the one mentioned in labor but no promotions..new job has actually lower salary and job description similar.
If i do ger rfe for evl with me in new job then I hope salary doesnot become an issue

Yes-excellent suggestion.India is a thriving democratic free sovereign nation.It is high time next Google,Yahoo and Oracle came from India.
If we all recent US returned people form our own corporation back in India-I am sure next generation of innovation will come from there.(Why software?-thankfully, Indian govt has kept that sector free from its regulation)
Reliance,Wipro and Infosys have made a big name.We need new self driven stories.

I agree. There is no point in this. I am really afrid that we are moving away from core abjective of IV. why we are getting inthis fiasco, there is no value in this

Called USCIS on friday and asked them to expedite since i can lose by job. current ead expires on sept 5 th and filed renewal on june 24th. I see so many cases getting approved with much later dates.
Any sugestions on what steps to follow?

As I understand, if we win the lawsuit, they will accept all 485 filed in July, no matter July 2 or 31. But they will process July 2 case first.

Some American citizens/anti-immigrant will tell you you are taking their jobs with your H1.
For them, this is their country. All jobs should go to them rather than a foreigner like you.
What is your response for that ?
Much of the fuel for anti-immigrant community against H1B's have been hiring low wage worker over qualified American in the same area.
That's what is under the scanner. Once the abuses are addressed, anti-immigrants would run out of fuel.
Also a side effect of these could be Desi consultant employees getting better salary.

Main changes are legalization of illegal immigration , point system,H1b increase with restriction and slight increase of immigration and reduction of family based immigration. Ability to work comes from EAD which would come from filing of 485. July 2007 filing was pushed mainly by IV and only then other organizations have pushed for it. I hope you are aware of this. 2 year EAD is IV's achievement.
All this happenned due to IV members and dedicated IV core. The president of this site IV is not a GULTI, but an Indian who donated about 60,000.00 US dollars. Yes, US $ 60K. He is also just like you and me. Never thought of divisions among immigrants: Neither Indian, Chinese, Philippines nor any origin. We have members from all over the world. The majority unfortunately is from India due to severe retrogression.
Had president of IV not donated 60,000.00, majority of us would still be struggling for spouse to work.
Please read IV's goals. Then you can comment whatever you want. Without funds, nothing can be moved. We have to lobby. That is the only option we have. IV core is also like you and me with normal jobs. They can not fly to DC every week or month for lobbying.
Please think before posting some thing.

Thank you all for all your suggestions and support. Past 3 days was very stressed and exhausted. Your suggestions and support made me relieved and courageous. Yesterday I slept peacefully without any tensions. IV is a great forum which is helping immigrants in difficult times by providing support and useful information. I am very thankful to you all. I will keep posting the updates; I will definitely fight and overcome this situation. Now, my first priority is my baby and health.
After seeing the support in IV, it proves that still there are so many good people out there to help people in difficult times. I won't forget this in my life.

The request by a fellow boarder to lower the contribution to $10 month is just so unfortuante. This tells us how badly we want our GC's. You are right Janak, even I am not sure whether to laugh or cry when something like this comes across.
But CanadianIndian I give you credit for bringing this thing out as I am sure there are many more who would be thinking of that magical number or may be even less (God, still bless IV)

Are there any implications of leaving my employer now who sponsored me for GC? I got my GC on the first week of July. I plan to leave on the 1st week of September. Thank you very much.
Addendum: I applied for AOS for my spouse this July. Will there be a problem with her AOS?
I am not sure if you GOT GC or you filed 485.
Based on AC21 law, you have to stay atleast 182 days after you file 485. More so if your I-140 is still pending.
So I would say 182 days from the receipt notice of 485 is mandatory to avoid complications. It should not affect your citizenship. I have 100s of friends who have invoked AC21 and quite frankly I dont care about citizenship. One thing at a time :)

Can parents stay here for 5 1/2 months go back for say a month or two and come back again for 5 1\2 months? Would this pattern be suspected during visa renewal?
