hi,
i entered the US on AP in Jan 2010, and at the time of entry, my I94 validity was set for
1 year (viz Jan 2011) - and the AP also noted "AoS" status on it.
(a) Is the validity of my I94 (and thus my legal stay) 1 year, or as i have read elsewhere,
if AoS is pending, then its valid till the AoS case is decided?
(b) If the validity is 1 year, what is the process for extending the I94 validity?

Is it okay to sign on something like this? Or am I giving away permission for much more than they need, without knowing!
Hopefully it is okay to give a permission for "all immigration matters" but wanted to double check, just in case!
My attorney had the same text in my G28, I asked him the same question. It is fine, nothing to worry about.

I heard from some source that non citizens cannot donate blood... if this is not true then count me in ....
Citizenship is a non-issue. If I correctly, the only bar on blood donations arise from recent overseas travel (2 years or 4 years?) to one of the 'high-risk' malaria areas in the world.

Hello,
I need your advice / opinion on the below scenario...
I and my wife are both employed at the same company, currently on H1.
I am the primary for our GC processing; my wife is dependent on me with regards to GC.
We both got our EAD and AP. 140 approved in May 2007, 485 Filed in Aug 2007.
I have submitted I-9 to the company in order to be on EAD status.
I am planning to have my Wife resign from the current employer and work for a diff company/vendor by using EAD.
Questions: 1.Does the above scenario bring up any issues with regards to our work status or any other issues with the current employer or to the GC process?
2. Can I work on a part time project?

In 2000, Congress authorized the use of 130,000 these �lost� visa numbers by what has come to be known as the �visa recapture� method. However, approximately 219,000 numbers have not been �recaptured�. The current worldwide pending cases in all employment based categories is approximately 340,000 applicants. A one‐time recapture of the 219,000 unused visa numbers could go a long way to eliminating this backlog and bringing much needed relief to many applicants who currently face the prospect of becoming residents of the United States after they retire.

Australian Immigration Minister Chris Evans announced recently a new agreement between Australia and New Zealand to improve identity checks and border security. Australia and New Zealand recently signed a memorandum of understanding [MoU] to share biometric data, an agreement that will further strengthen our nations' border security. Biometrics is widely used in the international community as an effective tool to manage visa and immigration processes, improve identity management and combat fraud.
At the Five Countries Conference (FCC) in London a memorandum of understanding was signed between Australia and New Zealand. The Conference enables Five data sharing Countries to exchange information and agree a way forward to improve border security. FCC data-sharing helps to establish the true identity of people whose identities or nationalities were previously unknown or uncertain, and has been used in Australia to check the identities of irregular maritime arrivals, other people in immigration detention and illegal foreign fishers. Wow ! I am in exactly same situation. I talked to national service center and they said they will talk to only employer or attorney. I told attorney about it and they said, dont worry , there online status system is screwed up so just wait for decision snail mail.
After seeing your mail, I am susoecting VSC cases are having issues with status search. so I would say that dont worry.

Hi,
I am in a unique situation, any advise/help would be appreciated.
My H1 Visa and I-94 are expiring on Jan 20, 2009. It can be extended till Apr 2011 as I have been in US only for 3 Yrs and 8 Months. My current employer is not extending my Visa, so I am going to get it extended through another company, say COMPANY ABC (a Staffing company basically).
However, I don't want to be with Company ABC because I am soon going to get a job with a direct client, CLIENT XYZ, but that won't happen until Jan 25th or so.
So my question is, if I apply for extension through COMPANY ABC for now, just so that I don't go 'out of status' on Jan 20th, will CLIENT XYZ be able to apply for my extension on Jan 25th, while my application with Company ABC is still pending? Or they (CLIENT XYZ) will have to wait until my first application (With COMPANY ABC) is processed?
Basically, just want to know if a Company ABC has filed for H1 Transfer and I-94 extension before the expiry date, can another Company XYZ file for an extension/transfer after the expiry while the application from company ABC is still being processed?
Any help is appreciated. I have posted this query on couple of other posts but no one seems to know the answer! no one replied yet :(
