Is there any pattern to the delays....in the sense that, did the applicants apply it late or the USCIS has been late in spite of applying around 120 days before expiry of EAD?

I checked with some of my colleagues and friends. They all have sent the letters, but most of them have not participated in this poll at the start. So I wouldnt get discouraged by smaller number of votes in it.

I know many people working here in my city who are from TCS. TCS blatantly breaks rules and sends these people on L1 visas while paying them an Indian salary and a minimal per diem for their time in the U.S. They don't even get enough for renting a car and I see many of these poor guys walking from their apartment blocks to the office. It's good exercise (for one's physical health) but the intent of the company is exploitation and nothing else :mad:
In addition, I notice that many of these recruits are here not for long term jobs but for gaining enough knowledge so that those jobs can be outsourced back to the home country. That has started to make many of my American colleagues really mad. But it's the fault of the company, not these poor guys who don't have seem to have a clue what a bad deal it is until they arrive here.
Sad to say, Wipro, Infosys and the rest in their flock are no better.

A fix without AC-21 does not bring lot of relief for us, I hope they receive I-485 and allow us to use AC-21.

1. marriage certificate
2. wedding photographs
3. wedding card invitation
4. property papers on joint name
5. other investments on joint name might help.
6. Indian passport has spouse's name entered
7. "Lease papers"
8. "Medical insurance papers with name of the spouse"
9. joint tax filed as additional proof.
10. Her H4 stamping etc can be a proof too
I am now trying to come up with a affidavit format that I need to send to some folks in India who attended our wedding and get those too... I will keep you all posted..

Does it really make sense for a CP filer to get EAD? Interim benefits are for AOS filers and rightly so too as a CP filer is deemed to be outside the USA.

This is what I wrote. I just faxed last Tuesday and havent heard from either Congressman or Senator. To this letter I also attached a copy of my I 140 approval (shows PD), a copy of I 485 receipt notice and 2 service requests that were started for me.

Dear Sir,
I would like to request your assistance with a pending petition with USCIS that has seen an undue delay in processing. This I 485 petition (Application to Adjust to Permanent Resident Status) and has been pending at the Texas Service Center since it was received. The receipt date is June 15, 2007 which is prior to what is currently listed as the processing date on the USCIS website (current processing date listed as of September 30, 2008 is June 27, 2007. USCIS has not updated the processing dates after September 30, 2008 on their website).
My Priority date of August 9th, 2001 is current for my case category EB3 India. I have requested a status update from the USCIS service center and 2 service requests were started on my behalf but I have not heard anything or seen any progress on my case.

Can anyone tell what will be the status of a person who has used AC21 , and does not get the EAD renewal before the existing EAD expires ? Assume 140 has been approved, 180 days has been passed and got the EAD renewal receipt.

Woke up parents in India to share news. Did not get off work early. But went to a Thai Restaurant for dinner.
I shopped till I dropped the following Saturday. Felt guilty about spending too much and returned everything next Sunday :)
- How did the long wait upset your life?
Quite a bit. It was always on back of the mind.Once bitten twice shy.Was
always worried about economy. Unable to buy home.Paid 30 % more on home due to GC delay. Unable to change job responsibilities (most upsetting)

Thats a good analysis. As you noted EB-2 India got only 14K visas as opposed to other predictions of 30-32K visas. I have long said that the variable here is how EB1 and EB-2 ROW demand numbers. A lot of folks assumed that all the spill over will end up in the EB-2 I/C lap. It does not as long as there is no retrogression across the entire EB-2 category severely, making the old PD golden (this is not going to happen) or there is very less demand for EB1 and EB2-ROW numbers.
While I agree with your analysis, I feel that the number of employers/applicants filing for Labor/140/485 has started a downward spiral in 2008. This means lesser demand for EB1 and EB-2 ROW numbers making the numbers available to EB-2 I & C. Again, it is very well possible that there are just enough number of people from both Eb1 & EB-2 ROW categories left & entering in the system to deny the numbers to EB-2 I & C. Unless the state of the economy continues like this, shedding 600K jobs in one month, equal to number jobs in the state of Maine, we can't say that EB-2 I & C can become close to current or leap into 2007 and beyond. Then we might be current and have a GC but the economic situation would be so worse that people don't care for GC. God Forbid we have to see that and lets hope and pray that the Stimulus will resuscitate the economy
