I guess people who work in IT have a very IT-centric world view. I don't and I know several EB1 candidates. They are extremely qualified and have extraordinary ability that can be documented with PhD, papers, patents and awards.
Even if we prevent possible abuse of this category, it will not help retrogression for EB2/3-I. The only fix is going to be legislative and we should focus our energies on that.
I am not sure if EB1 India cap of 3000 visas has been met already. If it was met, then they would have set a priority date for EB1 India too. Assuming that it is not being met, these project managers along with their spouses should be taking only a very small number and that shouldn't contribute much to EB2-3 retrogression numbers. So our real problem is lack of numbers for EB2 and EB3.

That is true. No one knows the impact of outsourcing. Because no public data is available unlike H1b or L1. If american public gets exact data about outsourcing then they will oppose that also and goverment has to act. But there is no legal binding for Government or Corporations to give data about outsourcing. Some time back most manufacturing went silently out of USA and when people started realizing it was too late to act. But relaxing immigration will not prevent outsourcing as everything is based on cost

My wife applied for her EAD in Dec 2007. We recd the EAD in May 2008 but with incorrect A#. Our Corp lawyer advised us to return the EAD card to USCIS with a new I-765 Application and correct information on it.
1) Was this the correct course of action. Could she have used the EAD card and then sent it for correction?
2) What is the time frame for a correction on the card? Also it has been a month since we sent it back and we have not yet recd rect# or notice in response?

Canada has several professional football teams. Infact, the CFL is the oldest professional sports league in North America, predating the NHL, NFL, NBA, and MLB. Even the first NBA game ever was played in Canada. I guess you mean Canada has no NFL team? Then yes, you're right. Canadian football is a better game, with 3 downs for 10 yards instead of 4, and a longer, narrower field (means more passing then running).

Dude, Read Vivek Wadhwas findings carefully. He wants the best and the brightest to be provided unlimited visas. I agree with him completely. He is not for perpetual fraud and wage destruction as proferred by the outsourcing companies. Next time when you quote a defence, atleast quote something that supports your case not the opponent's :-)

BTW none of us on this forum favors outsourcing. Whether you like it or not, nobody can prevent outsourcing. Even if corn farmer's bill survives, outsourcing will go on. If you are looking for job security, you need to change what you do for living. This applies to all of us on this forum as well.
Could unions stop the shifting of manufacturing jobs to China. You are living in the capitalist capital of the world. Don't think companies will help you cling to your job just because you want them to.
BTW you claim only 20% of H1Bs are genuine. How did you arrive at this figure. Have you interviewed each and every candidate who received H1Bs ?
You seem to be echoing anti-immigrant's concerns. Antis also complain that MSFT product quality has been going down since they started hiring H1Bs. I guess they were complaining about people like you.
You are contradicting yourself in your arguments. One one side you say you are highly skilled on the other you say you are worried about depressing wages for citizens like YOU. If you were so competitive, why would you worry about competition.

Hello All,
I have one question.My employer is pursuing me to go for labor substitution
which is filied in Feb 2004.I got my H1 from Oct 2006.My skill sets and experience is matching with the orginal labor application.
It is not approved labor, but just labor application(EB3 application).
Can anyone tell me the time required to get name transfer on original labor application ? and whether it is beneficial to go for it instead of filing under PERM process.
