Jennifer lynn Lopez: Can 'American Idol' make her an A-list movie star again?

American actress, singer, record producer, dancer, television personality, fashion designer and television producer Jennifer Lynn Lopez resurrected her career in the last year with a new album, being a judge on American Idol and a ton of endorsement deals. Now it has been reported that the entertainer is in talks to star in two new films. Lopez is in discussions to play the female lead opposite Jason Statham in Parker, the Taylor Hackford-directed action film adaptation of the Donald Westlake mystery novel series. The picture was acquired for U.S. distribution by Film District CEO Peter Schlessel and her co-star Statham will play Parker, a thief who follows a strict moral code,

but a hard guy who's willing to kill if crossed. The “On The Floor” hitmaker is in discussions for the supporting role of Holly in the film “What To Expect When You're Expecting,” the Kirk Jones-directed Lionsgate film that is based on the bestselling how-to guide to preparing for childbirth. The film stars Cameron Diaz and Matthew Morrison. Both films are still in the discussion stage but it’s evident that Lopez’s stock has gone up. She will also launch a Latin talent show with husband Marc Anthony in 2012.Once the deals are done, Lopez will film both Parker and What to Expect during her summer hiatus from Idol. Her big decision now... Whether to return to the show that revitalized her career, or take a chance and make her movie career her top priority.

What is Angelina Jolie doing in a swamp with a £7,000 bag !!!!!!!

The new Louis Vuitton campaign is odd. The bag company has always sent expensive photographers to beautiful places to shoot gorgeous vistas. This time round it's Angelina Jolie sans makeup in a wooden boat in a swamp. The ad was shot in Cambodia and we're all pretty used to seeing Angelina in that neck of the woods. There was Tomb Raider 1 and 2, obviously, then founding an animal sanctuary and picking up Rath Vibol from an orphanage in Battambang to become the boy we all know as Maddox Chivan.

The response has not been one of unguarded rejoicing. Some have argued that if you travel upriver in a very poor country with mosquitos and ferocious river beasts threatening your life and sanity, you might not want to take a £7,000 bag with you. Perhaps using poor countries as the backdrop to show off your luxury goods isn't in the best possible taste? All the same, it's hard to be mean to Jolie. She did give a tidy chunk of the pay cheque to charity. And all the caring celebrities are doing Vuitton's Core Values campaign these days.

Experts say there is evidence that consumers favour labels with a rich heritage because they are seen as more enduring.Hence Gucci's ongoing Forever Now campaign using black-and-white photographs taken in its Florence workshop in 1953 by Foto Locchi.Heritage is moot. After all, Vuitton financed Petain's Vichy government in the second world war, with Henry Vuitton one of the first Frenchmen to be decorated by the Nazi-backed regime for his loyalty and efforts for them.

To be fair, Vuitton has no truck with fascist sympathisers these days. The company supports a huge list of charities – all fashion brands do, explains Colin McDowell, who is curating Masters of Style, Peroni's exhibition of Italian fashion advertising at Somerset House in London."It's all part of the illusion that we're doing someone somewhere some good when we pay £7,000 for a bag."

American pop singer Lady Gaga's 'meat dress' goes to Rock Hall of Fame

American pop singer-songwriter Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta  stage name Lady Gaga made history at last year's MTV Video Music Awards when she turned butcher's cuts into high fashion. On Thursday, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will unveil the singer's infamous raw-meat dress to the public. The dress, made of layers of Argentinian beef, was kept in a meat locker, placed in a vat of chemicals and then dried out by taxidermists in California before being transported to the museum.Hall of Fame spokeswoman Margaret Thresher says the dress took on a "dark, beef-jerky" look while dehydrating, so it was painted to look "fresh" afterwards. The entire process took several months to complete. The dress is being displayed as part of the "Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion, Power" exhibit, which runs until February 2012.
